MUDUMALLAI SANCTUARY

The Mudumalai national park or wildlife sanctuary resides on the northwestern sides of the
nilgris hills.
Mudumalai sanctuary is an important wild life habitat due to its strategic position as a wildlife corridor between several other protected areas.
Reserve forests cover over 3300 sq kms of forest and having population of 1800-2300 elephants.
The forest is termed as Mudumalai tiger reserve due to the presence of around 48 tigers in the Nilgris reserve.
WILDLIFE
Mudumalai sanctuary is home to several endangered and vulnerable species like Indian elephant,Bengal tiger, Gaur and Indian leopard.
High diversity of species includes 50 species of fishes,21 species of amphibians,34 species of reptiles,227 species of birds and 55 species of mammals.
Around 8% of bird species are found in mudumalai sanctuary.

Elephant feeding camp This is the place one can interact with elephants and feeding of elephants can also be viewed.
Mudumalai museum
lies near to elephant feeding camp and this museum is the perfect location where some animals are preserved.
