Arikamedu is located in Ariankuppam which is 7 Kms from Pondicherry city .
This is the site of Roman settlements from more than 2000 years ago.
Evacations at this site have brought out wine jars,coins and megalithic urns of Roman origin.

Fragments of pottery pieces, glasses evacuated from Arikamedu are diplayed at the Pondicherry museum.
