About 1.5 long beach, the Promenade beach is one of the main beaches in Pondicherry.
If you walk from one corner to another you can able to see many memorials and statues will come across like Gandhi statue,French war memorial, The heritage town hall,old light house,Statue of Dupleix.
3.SRI MANAKULA VINAYAKAR TEMPLE
Manakula vinakar temple famously known for the Elephant blessings.
Manal means sand and kulam means pond earlier there was sand around pond.
So the people the God as Manal kula vinayakar temple.
Latter becomes Mankula vinayakar temple.

4.BASILICA OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, situated on the south boulevard of Pondicherry.
In recent years it has become one of the famous pilgrimage spots for christians.
The church was opened on 17 th December 1907.
The Architectural style of the church is Gothic architecture
5.AYI MANDABAM
White monument of Pondicherry built during the Napolean 3 Emperor of France.
It was erected by a lady name ayi .
She destroyed her own house to construct a water reservoir for the city.
6.AUROVILLE
Auroville is located at a distance of 8 km from Pondicherry town.
Auroville came into existence on 28th February 1968.
Soil from 124 countries was kept in a lotus shaped urn and mixed to symbolize universal oneness during its inauguration.
The Matrimandir is situated in the centre of emerging township and cover 62 acres of the city.
The architecture Matrimandir can be defined as a 12 sided white marbe inner chamber
7.OUSTERI
Ousteri lake is the best spot to visit in Pondicherry.
Boating house available in this lake and lot of birds to watch.
Ousteri is located at a distance of 10 km from Pondicherry town and spread across 390 hectares,the lake is situated between pondicherry and Tamilnadu.
This site is inhabited by more than 40 migratory birds.

Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture.
The temple is considered to be one of the most sacred by Vaishnavites and originally built by Cholas in1053.
The temple has a shrine of varadharaja or vishnu is on the small hillok.
9.FRENCH WAR MEMORIAL
The French War Memorial is located in Goubert Avenue.
This is dedicated to those soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country during world war 1.
It was built in 1971 and located opposite to Gandhi statue.
The memorial is very famous among tourist and is one of the major tourist attraction in Pondicherry.

Pondicherry Museum houses various sculputures and archelogical findings from Arikamedu Roman settelement which is ancient port 7 kn from the city.
Pondichery museum has fantastic collection of sculptures,handicrafts,archaeological findings from Arikamedu.
